A reminder to all. The British were the first to abolish the black slave trade and then proceeded to police the seas for years after to free slaves taken by other nations. Britain helped make Jamaica the great nation it is. As for slavery, well it existed before the black slave trade (eg Barbery Coast white slave trade) and continues across Africa and the Middle East today. This is largely glorified anti colonialist gibberish. Poor historical analysis. Must do better. I say this as a Jamaican.

This doesn't make any sense, since there is not enough evidence that confirm a visit of Vikings in North America. It ranks 'secondary evidence' the proof concerning such theory according the investigation procedures. Keep in mind, the 'SAGAS OF ERIC' were written 300 years after the supposal Vikings arriving in Newfoundland, so it is not a diary or any document of witnessing.

Vikings vs. American Indians, or at least the one you cited here as being killed for stealing.. I wasn't there.. Cannot exactly speak for tribal behavior when Leif and company first arrived in North America.. However, I DO want to add... Go look up "Mashco-Piro" attacks, etc. Lots of videos.. The thing that is very COMMON in these previously uncontacted "tribes" living in the South American rain forrests / jungles / Amazon and what is talked about here.. They are thieves by nature! They have quit being "uncontacted" on their own.. The locals on the other side of the proverbial river have given them bananas, plantains, etc.. They come in war parties later to steal machetes, food and everything else, and HAVE killed innocent kids (what we as americans would call indigenous peoples.. They have been acclimated decades ago - but came from the same bloodlines).. Seriously, IF you care to see how Leif and the others were likely dealing with, American Indians are not too far removed from the ones in South America that have been living down there for eons.. It is like giving someone on the street a roof, clothing (literally), food, MEDICAL (state done) and them talking about raping your wife, because you couldn't speak their language at that time... But, them bragging about murdering the "white man", and a "black man" while they are eating.. Still, after everyone is on the same translated understanding, they still stole from those who were down there working with the "natives"... Somebody habituated them like humans do to bears feeding them, and they are coming out of the jungles with spears and running roughshod over the villages of the domesticated indigenous... BOTTOM LINE.. Go ahead and take my "staff" = gun and see what happens.. I can't help but theorize the above is true... Most people don't even understand that most of the North American tribes were warring FAR prior to the "white man" showing up here.. Just don't touch a man's "girlfriend". (weapon or wife)...

The faith is Germanic and went crazy on their neighbor for beating his wife. dragged him out into the street and beat him and one of them was his brother and then his wife and the neighbors turned their backs on him waited for a minute or two and walked away. The young pretty wife called them valiant men and filed for divorce from her husband and asked if any of them where single. What is a future courting card? A get it, various men are placed on the card who will court her who are possible husbands. Faith women have low tolerance for people who beat them or their children. The chances are good she will keep the house and shake him for change or strip mine him. Pre-agreement to the house that was part of a inherence. Faith standard. She will most likely use the beating to gut him in court. The faith woman and men are of course encouraging her to take him to the bank. The local church decided to kick him out until he is willing to atone for his poor behavior of hit his own wife. The preacher decided to do a speech on it. He moved to a different town out of fear of being lynched or beaten to death. People kept calling him wife beater and acting mad. The town wants to pass a official ban on any attempt of him returning to keep the peace. Just a peaceful town of faith who claim god is Germanic and Jesus is a woman. The picture of Jesus is of a bearded big breasted women in a night gown.

That was a dogman, a canine that can walk on two legs, can be very evasive and scary as hell, a beast that can kill easily and can avoid be caught, that was no wolf of hyena or lion, so a big army wasn't capable to track an kill a mere lion?! Or a lot of avid hunters, this was something else.

It simply pisses me off when I hear and see that, again and again, the Vikings and all Germanic peoples are painted as nothing but pure viciousness. While, especially the churches and the clerics are portrayed as innocent sufferers. How about showing clearly, easily understandable, how much of a nuisance and a real danger the church and the clerics were, and still are. That reminds me of an old German saying: "Und willst Du nicht Katholisch sein, dann schlag' ich Dir den Schädel ein!" ( If you don't want to be a Catholic, I'll break your skull!") And that's just about how it was. Very few people actually joined Christianity voluntarily. They generally were forced into it by the sword, or by their own leaders. Especially among the Germanic tribes, or later in the worldwide lands colonized by the utterly brutal Europeans. The innocent church only existed for a very short time. Personally, I am only sorry, that church and clergy didn't suffer much more than they actually did.

Who, or why, the collapse? As usual, the Europeans must bear the guilt. Raping the land, breaking promises and treaties, stealing and removing the livelihood, and killing. The European expansion could only happen by theft and murder, and the words and promises never had any value. All was smoke and mirrors and killing......
